need formAPI function usage

I want to know the scenario where the following fucntion can be useful, although some discription is already written there and I tried to follow the same but didn't get/understand its true usage.

can you please explain with a small example??

IWDatacapture.setIsModified () :

Usage : Saves a DCR even if the form has not been modified. This feature is useful if the form contains acceptable defaults and the DCR name is automatically determined by FormAPI. In this situation, the user clicks Finish or Next without making any changes to the form.
Arguments:
None.
Returns:
Nothing.

This FormAPI method is not documented correctly in the document.
Correction is below:

To understand the usage of this method. You have to understand the different events of FormAPI on finish button. Those events will not be invoked if your DCR is not modified by the author.
I used this method in one requirement. Where i have to invoke some external call on finish button ("ONSAVEDONE" event).
In a scenario, where user clicks to edit a DCR and without making any change he clicks on finish button. In that case DCR modified status is false so all events associated with finish button will not be invoked. So you have to call this method in init() to set always a DCR status as modified. Then each time when author clicks on finish button all the events will be invoked and external call will be executed.
