Can multiple elements appear as children of a element in templating.cfg? Or would I need to combine all desired viewoptions settings into one element?

Can you recommend the best setting(s) to get all fields, including deeply nested replicants, to appear in View mode for a DCR?

from the DTD, only one element will work, but you can easily test and find out yourself.

I don't think there is best settings, the settings depend on your requirements. the only thing worth mentioning is to render the DCR containers and replicants collapsed if you plan on having many tinymce fields in the DCR otherwise your DCR will take too long to load.
