Metadata Capture Screen loads very slowly

Hi,

I am working on a TS/SP 7.1 - solaris platform (Oracle DB). The tagging screen takes a lot of time to load (~15-18 seconds) irrespective of how many conditions and rules i define in the config files (metadata rules and datacapture). The issue appears in all possible calls to the Tagger UI including workflow tasks involving tagging.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever faced this performance issue with the tag ui screen and what could be the steps to debug this?

I am not using Metagagger.

Anything in content_center.log ?

Also, try ping localhost, ping servername, and ping servername.domain.com from a shell on the server.

See if anything takes a long time.

When I have seen something like this before, DNS was messed up and the server was going to a server 1000 mile away for name service resolution.

Unfortunately there is not much any of us can do without experimenting on the server.

Okay so i was able to nail down the issue. I had 13 inline commands firing out of a single ruleset that slowed down the performance. I have run into another issue. Will be posting that as a fresh new thread!

Closing this one as root cause has been found out!
