Web CMS (TeamSite)
Sitepublisher for HTML page generation
Antharix
Hi Folks,
it has been a long time since working on teamsite and Its a good feeling to back with it.
At the outset, my client has a requirement to actually deploy static pages (HTML) pages but desires to use site publisher for content page creation(via components).
What is the best approach to adopt this assuming that the there is a vast scope of Leveraging the Sitepublisher/Livesite features in the near future?

Hi, i am using TS / SP 6.7.2.
The feature you request is OOTB, via the sitepupblisher menu item you can issue a command that is able to create static html from .page files, that can be deployed whereever you want.
On top of that the standard workflow (public livesite content, PLC) have a task that is able to generate html from the attached .page, by default it is disabled but the feature is there, this is useful when you want to hide the html creation process to the content contributors.
This is pretty easy to understand for static .pages, but it does works even if you have complex externals, the trick here is that the external is called only once and the resulting html is then "freezed", this is very useful in dynamic navigational components (breadcrumbs/ header) etc.
HTH!.
Emanuel.
