can i create a flat file from a DCR? as in with all the data? f yes, how do i do that? my requirement is that on a "callout" for a textfield, data from a DCR should be populated. for e.g: i have a DCT for cities and in the DCR, i ve given, say, 5 city names. and now i want to use callout to display these city names. how can i do this?

According to your requirement , In the callout script you can write the logic read that particular DCR (to get the cities names) and populate those in the text field.

refer to "Appendix D : Using Callouts" section in the "form_publisher_dev_guide.pdf" for more explanation.

Let me be clear about your requirement here.

1. You have a DCT for cities.

2. You enter city names in your form.

3. Now on a callout, you want to populate a flat file.

Please confirm if this is the requirement.

ya. . .thats right. . .either i want to populate a flat file or then if there is any other way in which i can get the data from the DCR in a callout, even that will do. in the end, i want the data so that the user can select one of that and the textfield gets populated with the selected data

You've confused me again.
Anyway, I guess that you are looking for a CGI callout, which on a button click will open up a window with a dropdown list. User will select values from that dropdown and on clickinh "OK", value(s) will get populated in a particular field back in the DCR.

If that is the requirement, your solution is well documented in the pdf as pointed out by Venus.

i have attached the DCT and my DCR. i am using the foll code :

logo image data is getting retrieved. but sitemap data is not getting retrieved. am i going wrong anywhere?
