iwov and xml in templating.cfg

Hi,

I have gone through the guide FORMAPI Developer guide and in the templating.cfg section

My Questions are:

There are two types of DCR

1.iwov
2.xml

But when I give dcr-type=xml

Is the bolded red part above a typo in the forum post or is it also like that in your templating.cfg file? It should be templating, not tempalting.

I would suggest attaching the templating.cfg file as well as the presentation.tpl file to this thread so that we can see the entire picture.

You have mal-formed templating.cfg XML, it is that simple. It is usually trivial to fix.

If you do not have any XML Editor make File's copy with XML Extension and open it up with any Browser.
Browser's Parser will show you what the problem is

No, I dont have malformed xml...I am posting my templating.cfg datacpture.cfg and presentation template.

If I give dcr-type="xml" then click New Form Entry

The following error is displayed
A problem was encountered trying to parse the datacapture.cfg file for type DELL. Please contact your system administrator.

But when I do the same for the type=iwov it is working.

can someone please help regarding this issue.

The datacapture file you uploaded is named datacpture.cfg.txt. I am assuming that the missing "a" in datacapture is current type and not the name of the file on your system.

that it's all just one big typo and you really meant something completely different, eg "auction" of your latest post.
So - what exactly are you asking?

Anyway... Type XML enforces certain limitations that IWOV does not. There must be only one root Node,
you must provide correct "location" and "pathid" attributes, etc. Please refer to the "TeamSite FormsPublisher
Developer’s Guide" for details

I tried with one root container element and giving correct location and path id attributes.and giving dcr-type="xml"...Its working now..

ISCBorisB is correct. See the following example below. You will need a root-container tag and will also need to add the pathid="blahblah" to each item in your file.

Or you could just use stick with the dcr-type="iwov".

Do yourself a favor, take a look at taalgard first post. You will see that there he has correct XML-style datacapture
and malformed templating (missed "template" closing Tag).
