error in deploy task

Hi,
I am using deploy task in my workflow which is created using wfm. I have given my script name in OdDeployName. My workflow is valid and published successfully. Now as I initiate the workflow, the user is able to attach the files, the reviewer reviews it, and it also gets submitted succesfully. After the submit task, I have deploy task but My files are not getting deployed.
I checked the log files, I am getting the following error:
Error: ERROR com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.workflow.task.URLExternalTaskCommand () - Exception when excuting URL external task com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.workflow.task.urltask.DeployURLExternalTask
java.lang.NullPointerException
Has anyone come across such errors? Please help!!!!

Please show us a list of all the parameters you reference in your deployment configuration file and all the task-level variables you defined for your DeployTask - chances are you neglected to populate one of them [correctly]

odDeploymentName:test ( test.xml is my deployment script placed in conf folder which contains source path and target path)
className: com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.workflow.task.urltask..DeployURLExternalTask
odPort: portno.
odHost: OpenDeploy server name
Deploy Command:http://$IW-SERVER/iw-cc/urlexternaltask(please tell me where can i find this file)

I have a doubt: do we need to give only file name in odDeploymentName variable. will it automatically go in the conf folder to look for this file??

sorry ..forgot to mention the error in logs. All my tasks till submit tasks are completed but my deploy task remains active.

is that a custom class you created? it doesn't look like it.
if you want to use the default deploy class then dont provide Classname variable in deploy task. the workflow will automatically invoke the correct classname. you will need to remove the variable (name, value) not only the value of the variable.
if that is a custom class, then the workflow couldn't find it and you need to verify that the classname you provided actually exists.

if Opendeploy is running on the same server as teamsite then yes, you only need to provide the deployment name ( deploy config file name without for the .xml).

Looks like the DeployURLExternalTask is missing some objects and is trying to call a method on that object that will give you a null pointer exception. Find out what object it is missing or not instantiating.
