Pre Installation 7.2

Hi,

In order to Install TeamSite 7.2 How many databases we need before installation for Common Services , Event SubSystem,TeamSite Reporting, SitePublisher,LiveSite etc

At least 2 - ESS and LS/SP. They must be different, the others can use ESS

During the installation (TeamSite + Administration UI), the panel that tells you to input the "Basic ReportCenter" connection details

- contains a message that it must be a separate schema/database.

- but the values are pre-filled with the details of the common DB.

==> this seems contradictory, so likely one of them is wrong

==> so far, we've always set up a separate schema for this. Not sure if it was truly required.

forgot to mention: you CAN install without a SitePublisher / LiveSite DB. (and set those up later manually; or work without with a few features less).

But if you install WITH those, than they need to be separate schemas (in Oracle speak)

I am not certain if this is true for 7.2.1. It seems that everything gets installed regardless. I could not get around it.

Here is the information we got from support

These schemas can be installed on the same Oracle database:
TeamSite
Common Services
Site Publisher
Report Server -( Note that it's recommended to put this schema on a separate DB, but you CAN put with the others if you're not going to use Advanced Reporting or make a lot of use of Reporting).

The Event Subsystem database no longer requires an external database. As of 7.2.1, a new internal default database (ActiveMQ) is used. So this is not something that you need to worry about.

Livesite needs to go on a separate database, even if you are not planning to use it. The installer will ask for the DB information regardless.

To summarize, the minimum number of databases is 2, with the first one holding 4 separate schemas and the second holding only the Livesite schema. For heavy usage of ReportCenter, we recommend putting that on its own separate database as well.

yes you can, just did it on TS 721 w2008 last week.
