New User - Editor

Hi,

When we create a new user he is automatically granted Editor role and it can't be remove.

What is strange about this, is that the Editor role is not associated to a branch, it's blank.

Any explanation for this.

When the branch was created, it was created to inherit permissions from the parent and that user (or user's group) is an editor there.

Something thing is not right, What version of TeamSite are you on? What is this screenshot you have posted,how did you grab this shot?

Usually as Andy said it shoudl be the case, more over if you see the Profile of a single user from your admin tab you should see the roles and branches in which they have these roles listed. Do you see that?

We are running TeamSite 6.7.2 Service Pack 2. This screenshot comes from the
- administration tab
- Manage User
- Edit beside username

With a simple print screen

That's exactly our problem, I see the role(Editor) but there is no branch attach to it.

If I give that user a new role, I will see the Branch, but the Editor on top with no branch will always be there.

How does it show up for a person who is a master? can you provide a screenshot.

Can you create and dummy user and make him not a master and assign him to a group which share a branch and then see how this users profile looks like?

I would do this and see if the behavior is consistent. If not , I suggest you to re-add the user, else as a last option open a ticket with support and they can resolve it by doing a live meeting.

Did you guys do any customization to Editors Role? You might want to attach screenshot of Editors Profile with More Details enabled.

We too have same Info set up.

Do you have a specific branch for which this Editor has permissions. do this CLT against the branch and the user who is just an editor, and post the output.

Yes I do, here's an example from a branch where that specific user is an Author and an Editor
