How to customize the metadata display in List view for all the users who login ?

I want to add a metadata (system ) as a colum , which will list view for all assets to all the users .

From Manual “In either List view or Gallery view, click Configure near the top right of the main window.
The Column Configuration window appears, with currently included
metadata displayed in the right-hand Selected Metadata column.”

The MediaBin server saves your view settings so that when you log in, the system
automatically displays the view as you left it when you last used the system.

I can do this with Configure option near the top right of the main window ,
but we have more than 200 users , instead of training each one ,
how to include the new metadata filed for all the assets with the list views for all the users .

Please share your thought / idea

All the user settings are stored as XML files in the \saved\UserData\ directory inside the MediaBin Web Client folder on the web server. Each user id has a unique SID (kinda like a GUID) that the system assigns when the account is created. The SID is used as the name of the user's config file.

In the XML file there is the main <UserData> node. Under this is the <ITEMS> node. In there are two nodes you need to modify. The first is <Column_GUIDs>. This is a list of GUIDs for the metadata fields you wish to include in as columns. The <Column_Names> node contains the corresponding headers for these columns.

What I would suggest you do is set up your account, using the Web UI, to have the columns and column headings you want and then copy the node values from your config file to the other files in that directory. You can do this by hand or use a script (depending on how many there are). Also, update the Default-Settings.xml file. This is the template that is used for a user's settings the first time they log in.
