backups...again

Hi All,

Our TeamSite development server is officially sick, very sick. Every time we call a TeamSite process (previewing, iwgen, the list is long) we are getting application errors. We want to blow away TeamSite, but we also want to use the same stores, branches, and workarea we had before. What is the process for achieving this.

What I really want to know is....If I successfully back-up a store to a CD-ROM, how do I get it back into TeamSite? I assume I still have to rebuild the branch, workarea and import an edition.

Actually, you don't need to do anything particularly exotic:

1: back up iw-store (or just copy to other location.)
2: blow away TeamSite and iw-store.
3: Re-install the exact same TS version.
4: After testing new TS installation, kill TS processes
5: Copy iw-store backup back to original location.
6: re-start TS (on Windows, reboot.)

That's it. Assuming nothing else changes on this server, your old backing store will be in place in the new TS implementation. Don't change TS versions when you do this--that's a different scenario.
