CSS Issues in Fixed-Layout.xml

Hi,

I am creating a fixed layout xml in default/main/My-company-name/WORKAREA/work/iw/config/fixed-layout.

I am defining rows and areas as per the requirement. I am facing following issues with respect to css:
1- I am not able to define the CSS class for body tag. I am applying class to Canvas as well but still it is not apopearing in the body tag of the page that is generated.
2- Generated html has unnecessary div tags. And each div has a correesponding id and css class. How can i remove these extra divs and there classes?

Any Pointers would be appreciated.

Livesite is generating this div-soup for you and I have never been able to prevent or customize this.

You have to tailor your html/css towards livesite and not the other way around!
