how can one change the workarea properties,say if the workarea is owned by an individual and can be acessed by a particular group.so now i need it to change it from group to individual.is there any kind of command line tool or a script that can change these values(but not thru UI)

I don't think there is any CLT which can change "Group to Individual" for a folder. Workaround could be to create one group and restrict access to a particular user to that group and inturn to the workarea/folder. Offcourse, there will be concerns on security/access levels which you need to take into account.

Try:

iwaccess set-private vpath true

(I'm not sure if you need 'true' there, but I think so from my reading of the CLT manual.)

Sorry what is your env? and what is your TS? From what I see its not that complicated, you can try what Adam said and also if it was linux or solaris platform its easy to do it in couple of commands from the console.

you can change it to a new group using "iwaccess set-group vpath group"

The new individual can be part of this new group.

My bad - I wasn't thinking the issue through clearly this morning and I wasn't logged into a server to test it.

As someone else has already pointed out:

iwaccess set-group vpath ""
(or)
iwaccess set-group vpath "" -r

will take care of clearing out the group field, setting the workarea from "Group" to "Individual" and mark the workarea as private.
