Customize Import (Heading) Button

Hi Guys,

Im trying to customize heading import button but have difficulty getting label or url to show up after customizing ui_custom.xml. The original import heading button is still active after my customizations.

I have searched forum as well as looked through content-center/reference/....README_base_config_types and UI manual but can't seem to find the resolution. So far from my research I came up with config shown in shown in ui_custom.xml file attached. File -> Import within xml works fine but not for heading import button.

Ok Guys, I figure it out as seen in ui_custom.txt attachment.

My other issue now is how can I use my custom_import.cgi for specific vpath and to use regular (out of the box teamsite) import functionality for other vpaths.

I don't believe there is any directives for UI customizations to be based on vpath.
The only way I can think of that you could do that is if your custom import code checks the vpath and, depending on what it is, either calls the OOTB import CGI (passing all the requisite parameters) or continues with the custom import code.

This link is "http://servername/iw-cc/command/iw.group.import" which I kind of suspect it wouldn't work because I also need to call this command within the same frame as regular OOTB port functionality. However I still I tried in cgi seen below which gave me internal server error:

You do not run a CGI - you redirect to it. Search google for example HTML / JavaScript code for redirecting to CGIs.

Ok Guys, issue solved.

Here is answer, the following code below has to be placed in header of perl cgi script with the directory path variable being passed to it:

meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url=http://servername/iw-cc/command/iw.group.import?vpath=$dir_path"

The out of the box import functionality will then appear for the directory path variable in redirect code above upon script execution.

Guys I have another issue, upload works but I get this screen after upload:

"The operation has completed successfully but was unable to close this window. Please close it manually"

I need to get back to original screen showing uploaded file, any ideas?

There is no need for "iw.group.import" hack. OTB "Import" Widget is documented and supported,
see User Interface Customization Guide for details, CC Command "import".

Try it, see if it closes you pop-up Window upon termination. If it does not, "import" has another parameter, "done_page".
Add it, syntax may be similar to the following:

.../iw-cc/import?vpath=YourVPath&done_page=/iw-cc/teamsite/common/refresh_parent_and_close_window.html

My sample did not have any relative path URL. As denoted by leading slash, it's an absolute path without domain. There are details
but usually CC commands that use "done_page" honor this format. Since you are using a hack instead of CC Import, who knows....

Use what works, sure...

"No Domain" format is actually complemented with the domain by the requesting Browser. As such,
it is sensitive to both original URL Format of parent window and subsequent redirects. Chances
are, your use of "HTTP-EQUIV" meta is what makes "No domain" format to fail.

Since fully qualified URL works for you, all that is only of academic interest of course.

Okay solve issue run into another. Now I need to implement in ccstd custom import. Check UI manual (closest eg pg 107), README_base_config txt file so far zip.

I'm fairly confident link is correct which I took from view source, but heading and actionlist I know are not correct which is not directly applicable from view source.

Any ideas welcome, here is my revised ui_custom.xml file with ccstd attached to post created via view source and ref from manual .
