Internal Translation Workflow

The OOTB Internal Translation Workflow is described in the Professional User Guide, and says:

6. On the Workflow tab in ContentCenter Professional, the user assigned to do the translation receives a new user task.

But at no point in the workflow you can select a user to do the translation. Strange. How does the system then select a translator?

I checked the workflow model itself and that doesn't really clarify the issue. The Translator is supposed to be the owner of the job. So you start a workflow which assigns the translation to yourself? Not very handy.
