PT compilation strange behaviour

Not sure if anyone has experienced this but the pt compile command (iwpt_compile.ipl) is showing some strange behavior when I try to run the iwpt_compile.ipl via command line.

here is what is done:
1) I try to compile my TPL via command line and it works fine
2) when I make some changes in TPL and run the compile command it throws and xml error like mismatched tag at certain line etc
3) but when I put some dummy perl variable at diffrent places of TPL and re-run the compile command it compiles well

not sure whats going on here but looks like the compiled version gets cached somewhere and only on having some additional new perl code in the TPL it re-complies well.

plz let me know if anyone has faced similar strange behavior and if there are any inputs or comments to deal with this.

It's impossible to make any meaningful comment without looking at code.
One thing for sure though, iwpt_compile does note cache anything. Must
be something else
