Fetching values for the Multiple multi-select listbox as set as DCR EA

Hi All,

I have a requirement where I have multiple multi-select listbox and based on the selection in each listbox, those values should be set as DCR EA respectively to their field name. Also further in continuation, instead of values it is fetching "Label".

It would be great if experts can point direction to fix the issue.

In your code, "onSaveDone" Event handler executes CallServer to set EAs.
That's definitely a sound way to implement what you've described.

What exactly is the problem you are trying to solve?

Basically what I am looking for is to set EAs for each multiple selection listbox to their respective segment. For Example, if I select multiple values for field "Format" then these values should be set against EA let TeamSite/Format: selected "Format" options and same goes with rest of the other multiple selection listbox.

It would be great if you may kindly provide your thoughts and assistance in order to achieve the above given scenario.

Something's definitely missing in this conversation...

The code you've posted does (tries to do?) exactly what you've described.
Here is the fragment from it[php]

As mentioned earlier there are n number of multi-select listbox such as "Format", "Subject", "Section" etc.. so the requirement is to set n number of EAs on the DCR as mentioned below:

But as per the current code, the selection made on last multi-select listbox i.e. "Sub-Category", EAs are getting set on "Format" which is incorrect. My requirement is to set EAs based on the selected values in respective multi-select listbox their values should be set as an EA value to the above mentioned corresponding EA parameters.

I don't see anything glaringly wrong in the code you posted, but that doesn't mean that there isn't some subtle error there.

To debug - add alerts or use Firebug (in Firefox) - or both.

If these are all multi-select fields you might be better off writing a recursive routine in your callServer script (or in your FormAPI code and called from your callServer script) that traverses the entire DCR and retrieves the values from each multi-select field and sets the EAs in a loop. Or - kick off a workflow and have the workflow do all this in an externaltask.

Also - you might have to override the onClose event to prevent the window from closing until you make your call to endFunction() [which should then, presumably do an IWDatacapture.close(), perhaps within some sort of conditional block]

I tried to immplement the suggested changes but unfortunately not able to figure out the issue. Would you be in position to look into the issue and help me out in achieving the desired output.

the selections made on [...] "Sub-Category" are getting set on "Format"...

You have problems with your code and have to debug it. Chances are, JS code
incorrectly or unexpectedly modifies global "finalFormatVal" Variable.
