Interwoven Compatable with Linux
Aghosh
Hi All ,
we are right now using a very old version of interwoven 5.5, and we will be upgarding it to a higer version but we want to have the OS as linux instead of solaris . we are looking for the following ans to the questions below :
1. Version of interwoven which runs in Linux.
2. The software requirement like jdk version to invoke the web version of IW.
3. The difference in deployment steps between the existing and the targeted version.

Hi,
please go through the relsease notes for questions 1 & 2. For third question, the deployment steps are the same and there would not be any changes in the code, if u r planning to migrate the code.

Are you using Formspublisher with 5.5?

Interwoven has several products, you'll need to be more specific.
TeamSite 6.7.1 and above all have Linux version (AS or ES 4 or 5)
TeamSite 7.1 and OpenDeploy 7.1 uses jdk 1.6
Metatagger, LiveSite, SitePublisher, Mediabin are also products by Interwoven
There is a different way of writing workflows using workflow modeler in version 6.7.1 although wft are still supported. Not sure if they would be able to get rid of the wft as there are so many companies still using them in the workflow. Unless Interwoven can come up with a utility to convert wft to ipm, then it will be awhile before that dies out.
Deployments should still be the same, although you should check the release notes to make sure the od versions are compatible.
