checkout and checkin operation using CSSDK

I want to create a new version of the same file using CSSDK. please tell me if there is any API to do checkout and checkin operation on a file.

Like we do edit/editwith in teamsite UI, and then we upload the file , can this be done using cssdk API ? I am not able to find any such API.

There is no checkout operation in TeamSite.
The "checkin" option is a "submit" action - which does exist within CSSDK.
You can use standard Java I/O to copy an existing file - or any number of potential techniques to programmatically modify the contents of a file.
Beyond that - I'm not sure what you're trying to do, so it's kind of difficult to suggest how you might do it.
