File History Area #
Bryan_K
When I check the revision history of a file in 5.5.2 (Probably applies to most new versions) using View > History, one of the columns displayed is "Area." Sometimes it lists an edition, sometimes it lists a workarea, and sometimes it just lists a number in this column (i.e. #48, #205, etc.) Anyone know what this column means?

I believe that the "area" column lists the area in which that version of that file can be found. I think it tries to list an edition whenever it can, since editions aren't mutable.
When it lists "#NNN" where "NNN" is some integer, that is a "hidden" edition that is created by a submit. Those "hidden" editions do not appear in the file system. However, I believe that you can go to those editions by cd'ing to .../branch/EDITION/#NNN, even though an ls/dir of .../branch/EDITION doesn't show you #NNN.
Hope this helps.
