MediaBin Compatibility with TeamSite 7.1

ntaylor

I am looking into upgrading our systems to use TeamSite 7.1. The release notes say that TeamSite 7.1 is only compatible with MediaBin Asset Server 4.6.3 or higher. Does anyone know where I can get MediaBin 4.6.3 or MediaBin 7.0? They don't seem to be available on the IWOV support site at support.interwoven.com.

Thanks,

Nate

hi folks! anybody know more on this by now? thx

Arijit

There is no MediaBin version as 4.6.3. Which Release Notes are you looking at, page no. etc? Email me copy of the document you are looking at and we will verify if it was a doc error.

Thanks,

Frederik

Found MB 4.6.3 mentioned in 2 places:

Compatibility Matrix for TeamSite 7.0
https://support.interwoven.com/resources/products/compatibility/teamsite70.asp

Release Notes for TeamSite 7.1 (ts_71_rn_v01_en.pdf page 12)

Cross-Product Compatibility
The following are the products compatible with TeamSite 7.1:
- MediaBin Asset Server 4.6.3 or later

Can you tell me if MediaBin 7.0 is released and available (and is it the latest version)? Is MB 7.x the logical companion for TS 7.1, or will MB 4.6.2 work also (and well supported)?

thanks

Arijit

Hello,

I see the mention of 4.6.3 in compatibility matrix, thanks for pointing out. We'll work internally to fix that. Could not locate the mention in Release Notes though, if you could send me the document version you have, we'll try and have it revised.

We have had two releases of Virage MediaBin. Version 7.0 released in Q4 '09 and version 7.0.1 shipped in first quarter of this year. We are already getting busy with customers upgrading from 4.6.2 as well as new installs.

Virage MediaBin 7.0.1 is the logical parallel to TeamSite 7.1, however if you are only looking at accessing digital assets from VMB using ECM connector, in that context 4.6.2 is just as good and yes MediaBin 462 is supported with TeamSite 7.x.

The mention of MediaBin 4.6.3 is in the TEAMSITE 7.1 release notes, document name ts_71_rn_v01_en.pdf, page 12.

I have just re-downloaded it from Interwoven/Autonomy support site to verify. I doubt there is a need for me to send you the documents that are on the support site?

edit:
thanks for answering the VMB version question
