Conditional comment in SitePublisher

Afternoon,
I have a need to add some conditional comments in SitePublisher to properly render CSS in IE. In SitePublisher it is easy to edit the site and add the css files via Shared Resources. But what if you would like to add conditional comments, scripts or just regular comments to the head tag. Would a Pre-Controller be the way to go?

Good question. Sorry, I don't know the answer. But I'm also having trouble with conditional comments in SitePublisher. Within TinyMCE, in the HTML Source Editor, how should I type a conditional comment in such a way that it is left alone by TinyMCE? I'm using TS 7.0 on Windows 2003.

Here's the source code -- some JavaScript code within a conditional comment:

<!--[if IE]>
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
var addthis_offset_top = 150;
// --></script>
<![endif]-->

With IE 7, after clicking Update and going back to HTML mode, TinyMCE removes the conditional altogether. Cute, but not what I wanted. I want to retain the conditional in the page to the published.

With FireFox 3.6.8, TinyMCE converts the above code into the following:

<!--[if IE]> <mce:script type="text/javascript"><! var addthis_offset_top = 150; // --> <!--[endif]-->

What the heck?

Suggestions (besides upgrading : ))?
