enabling logging

Hi folks,

I have a problem on my site and therefore I want to enable logging. I want to debug the workflows, the external tasks and the preview part of the teamsite.

I know I can click on "debug" in my site http://****.****.com/iw-cc/command/iw.base.loggers.
But which of the loggers do I need to set debug to have some logging in the iwjoberrors.log and iwtrace.log.
And also do I need to restart something after setting this loggers on "debug"?

Logging setup is terribly messy and undocumented in Teamsite. :-)

But if you are more specific about what external-task (command/java/whatever) you want to debug we might be able to come up with an answer.

IFF the information is something that would be captured by one of the standard (or a custom Java) logger - then no, you don't have to restart anything after going through the logger UI settings.

Knowing which logger setting to change is, as was stated, a bit of a hit-or-miss kind of thing - you have to base it on what you believe the issue is and then try to find a logger (or multiple loggers) set them to debug and hope for the best.

If it is custom code that you think may be the issue - then you have to make sure you have your own debugging mechanism in that code.

Thaks for you help. We found out that the server was not fully restarted which was the cause fo one of our problems.

It's not an external task but the default workflow "Attach dependencies" en stuf like that.
