Filesystem is read-only or archive is frozen
sahu
I'm having 777 permission for a file but suddenly I'm not able to edit that file,
even root user is unable to do any operation (like cp or chmod) on that.
getting error in any teamsite operation "Filesystem is read-only or archive is frozen".
I have checked other thread also but no luck, any suggestion on this .

1. Check your store whether it is frozen state
2. Check your teamsite license is valid or not.
Use "tsisvalid.exe"

Freezing of the backing store needs to be done whenever backups or snapshots are taken. Without a freeze there is no guarantee that the backup of your store will be complete. Most admins schedule a freeze before their scheduled backup and a thaw after the backup completes. We freeze and thaw our store every night. Longer on Fridays when a complete backup runs. Shorter on the days when only incremental backups run.
Freezing and thawing is done by running the iwfreeze command followed by parameters that determine how long to freeze or to unfreeze. I suggest you read the TeamSite Admin docs to learn more.

It looks like someone specified an extended freeze on the server (probably to do a backup) and for one reason or another never un-froze / thawed it.
Best to check with whomever might have issued the freeze command to determine whether you can just un-freeze and move on, or whether more work is needed to be done because of the failure to unfreeze automatically.
