How to re-install TeamSite 7.2 after a failed installation ?

Hello guys,
I am pretty much stuck after i upgraded from 6.7.2 to 7.2. The installation failed during the post-install step. I have another thread open for that issue and can be found here. Also, i have a case open with IW support too.

When i try to re-run the 7.2 installer, it picks up from were it left off and exits abruptly. The Add/Remove programs on the server does not have 7.2 yet and still has 6.7.2. All the TS components seems to have installed and is noted in the /iwinstall/private/config/inventory.xml.

- How can i do a full re-install of 7.2 now ?
- Is there a way by which we can force the installer to start from the scratch ?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated !!!

The latest (7.1) install manual has a section on how to remove TS manually. I had to do that when I wanted to upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1.

I did not remove iw-home, only hacked the registry.

Try that.

When my 7.1 install failed, I believe I had to delete these two directories so the installer would restart from the beginning:
c:\iwinstall\private\config\
c:\iwinstall\private\manifest\

Back-up these directories up before deleting just in case!

When I did a full reinstall of TeamSite 7.1 on Linux, I had to delete the iwinstall directory. But if you do that, make sure to back it up first.

When i tried to browse thru the elements in the registry, i could still find only the entries for 6.7.2. No reference of 7.2 at all in the registry.

I been using a domain account which has full administrator access on the server and now IW support is asking me to use a local administrator account to do the installation. Does it really matter ?

I can't speak to the local vs. domain account issue, but I used a local account. It is doubtful that this was the original issue.

Back up the two directories and delete them. The installer should start from scratch again.

Once you have a good install of TS 7.1, don't mess with the iwinstall directory again. Unless you do a completely new install. The upgrades will pick up from the iwinstall directory.
