Store Migration|Need input on backup strategy and folder to be copied

Hi,

We have TeamSite version 6.7.1 Build 65609 running on our production server. We are planning to migrate from Teamsite current version to Teamsite 7.2.1

We need to come up with a plan to perform this migration.
I would appreciate if you can put some pointers on below:
1. Backup strategy for the existing teamsite server incase of failure. Will migration of store data have any affect on existing teamsite server.
2. What are steps of store migration. I mean first we have to copy the iw-store and iwmnt data to new server and then execute iwmigrate command on new server.
3. While migrating the data from existing server which all folder should I copy directly from old teamsite server to new one. I have following folder on unix box. Do I need to copy iwserver, iwmnt,etc, usr and var folder where all the teamsite data is kept.

There are upgrade planning manuals and such with the newer releases of TeamSite. You might look through them to get some ideas.
If you already have at least a DEV and PROD server, you definitely want to be trying out your process steps on DEV first - and take careful notes of everything you did and everything that happened.
If you have the option, doing a fresh installation on a new server and then copying or migrating the store and then carefully migrating your customizations (it's a great time to clean up and get rid of trash)
You should NOT copy over / migrate anything that is provided as part of the product (e.g.: be very careful with IWHOME/httpd/*, and also with /iwadmin/*)

If you're still not comfortable with the idea - hire someone with experience to come in and help you through it.
