Group Task --> CGI Task

Hi,
I am working on an approval workflow in which a CGI Task is followed by Group Task. I am expecting a user who takes the ownership of the task to become owner of the CGI task.

However it’s giving an intermittent behavior….
Whenever a user takes the ownership of the task, instead of the user taking the ownership, Submitter of the job is becoming owner of the CGI task. (Strangely this is not happening for all users.)

I checked out other posts on devnet, I can make use of iwat event triggers
However, we are having number of workflows in place which has Group tasks; we don’t want triggers to get executed for all the workflows.
Is there any way by which I can filter the iwat TaskGroupTaken script to get executed only for Group tasks of one workflow and not all. Or can I filter this based on Workareas?

I am using Teamsite 7.1
Windows 2000 environment.
Workflow configurations are correct.

No. Your event handler will have to filter out "false positives".

But can you please explain this, does it mean I need to put in extra lines of code in my event calling ipl to check for task and workarea?

"iwat" settings are global. "iwat TaskGroupTaken yourScript" will intercept every and all "TaskGroupTaken" Events and invoke your script.
If you have to process only some of these Events and ignore others you have to code this logic yourself within your event handler Script.

There is not enough information in your post to answer this question. It is somewhat unclear what the problem really is.

You said that "I am expecting a user who takes the ownership of the task to become owner of the CGI task...". What this
expectation is based on? This is absolutely not OTB behavior. "iwat" with Task Owner assignments is pretty standard
approach to achieve this functionality but you'd have to code it

When TaskGroupTaken event call an IPL file, it will pass also pass wf_ID, Task_Id and workarea from where workflow is triggered.

By getting this info you can easily identify that which workflow is running or on what workarea this workflow is triggered.
