URLExternal Tasks not working for https

Hi,

Recently we configured teamsite to run on https.
Everything seems to be working fine but the workflows with URLExternalTeask are not getting executed.

We even tried the url command to https as follows
https://$IWSERVER/iw-cc/urlexternaltask

any help will be appreciated

You'll probably have to dig through the log files to find error messages that coincide with the attempt to fire off the URL External Task process.

My guess (and purely a guess) is that you may need to adjust something in the iwwebd.conf[.template] in order to ensure that /iw-cc is mapped to the https protocol - but, as stated, this is purely a guess.

Can you check after setting default_protocol=https under [iwwebd] section in the iw.cfg file?

I am also facing the same issue, after post migration of teamsite server to https.

External URL task in the workflows (WFM) are not working.

I have also looked into all the logs(server.log,content_center.log etc) and not able to find any thing related to the same.

Let me know if anybody has found a solution for it.

You weren't exactly clear as far as "not working".. but assuming your code doesn't execute and the workflow gets stuck there, try running a stuck task manually from your browser via https://server/iw-cc/urlexternaltask?taskid=12345 (replace with actual ID) and see what happens. The "good" behaviour is your java code would run and then your browser would get directed to a 404. Anything else would give you a hint as to where the problem is. If the browser way is successful, then your 'URL Command' on those tasks isn't right.

There's apparently a "known issue" in some releases of TeamSite (e.g.: I found out about this in 7.3.2 last year, not sure about others) where URL External Tasks wont work if https redirect mode is enabled, unless you change the Command of the task to: http://localhost:8080/iw-cc/urlexternaltask

Try making that change to your URL External Tasks in WFM - save / publish the WFM, and then try to invoke a job from it.

We are having similar issues after we upgraded to TeamSite 8.1 running under https.

When invoking a workflow with the first task as an CGI Task, it is showing following popup window indicating the CGI cannot be loaded.

As you have noticed the url that invoked the cgi is http://localhost, but our TeamSite server is hosted on https with a domain name instead of localhost.

Any idea how we can resolve this problem?

FYI, our sys admin found a solution to our problem by removing the ProxyPass rules in apache/iwwebd (which is a new setting after upgraded to TeamSite 8.1, and this ProxyPass rules was not there prior to 8.1).

After the change, the CGI task was working fine.
