CGI Task throwing error on submit

Pawan

Forgive me if this is a repeated question, but I am unable to get results in search. I have my first task as a CGI task in a WFT. the cgi screen is loading fine, but when I click on "Cancel" button the window should close after transition to end task. The transition is working but when it submits itself the cgi screen shows error 500. I am not sure what form variable is missing on submit or it can be anything else.

If anyone can direct to any manual which I can refer or any debugging method, would be appreciated.

I ran the task replacing the cgi file with sample cgi file coming OOTB, the screen shot is attached.

You tried the sample_cgi_task.ipl file and it's cancel isn't working either?

Being able to see your code would be very helpful. Please attach.

I don't see any attached screen shot.

You are *probably* not returning any CGI formatted output upon posting "Cancel" action. If so, that's a mistake.
The simple way to fix it is to output self-closing html (close onLoad, etc) after you've executed your transition logic

I am sure I was missing some form variable on submit/cancel. Anyways, thanks for the replies. i finally got it resolved by removing all the form variables and writing only those which are needed for now.

I did the html close onLoad of body, but the fact is even after executing this new form and successful transition to next task, the current cgi window threw error 500.
