OD Receiver Upgrade on Windows Needs Reboot?

If we upgrade OD receiver from 6.0 to 6.2.1 on Windows server, should we reboot the Windows host? The installation guide says that, the Windows host should be rebooted.

I usually take the backup of config files, uninstall the current version and install the new OD version. I've not rebooted the server with this fresh installation.

1) if the installation guide says reboot, then why the question? are you asking if you can get away without rebooting? probably, but why going thru the headache? if you have downtime to install then it shouldn't be a problem to reboot.

2) I haven't looked at the documentation for 6.2.1, but do you really need to uninstall the old version to upgrade?

We're rolling out new OD version on one of our client's Production web server, so checking if we can upgrade without the reboot.

For OD, stopping/restarting the services is usually sufficient - unless as part of the installation process you changed some System Environment settings (unlikely, but possible).

For TS - reboot is definitely recommended.
