TS 7.1 no admin window

So I have loaded 7.1 on a Linux server. Connected to a SQL2005 server for the DB

When I click on the Administration button, it tells me the Admin server is not available:

Could not contact Adminstration server. Please try it later, or contact your system administrator.

From the servletd_out log:

Could not connect to broker URL: tcp://localhost:3035 - Connection refused

JBoss has an error in the ConetntCeneer log as well.

Ideas ?

OK, looks like one needs to iterate through the installer a few times. 3rd time it let me install the admin UI.

but for me it is not happening in administration tab but related to the event subsystem. The event subsystem is not installed and configured at all. There was no errors or warnings while installing.

could you please explain what did you do by iterating the installer?

rerun the installer, it will give you a new list of things you can install

I have tried this now on 2 separate windows systems and to no avail. The event subsystem simply does not work or come up.

Bringing up the installer shows no additional choices. Did you install things in separate pieces (infrastructure first, etc.) or all at once? I received all the choices the first time through (TS, TS Admin, Infrastructrure, etc.) so I see nothing different if I try to start the installer again.

I do see that there are some elements (db password and jboss home) that were not replaced during the installation in my broker-config.xml file in iw-home/eventsubsystem/conf. Are yours populated with the correct values you entered during installation?

Or let me ask differently, as this was specifically about the admin console. The console works fine for me. Can you actually see if the event subsystem is listening on 3035 or whatever you choose during installation?

It's also true that there is nothing listening on 3035. Eventsubsystem is not installed.

Did you just reinstall the Admin Console twice or everything? I've reinstalled the Admin console 3 times now... Same error

Unable to access the Admin Window.
Any ideas?

Well, there is a new installer for Linux now on the support site:

old one:
IWOVInstaller-Linux-7.1.0.bin
74134983 bytes

new one:
IWOVInstaller-Linux-7.1.0.0.1.bin
74167750 bytes

Yes I've read the post you've mentioned.

From memory there are a gotchas mentioned in the install PDF:
1. an extra step in the install notes in the PDF about creating ACTIVEMQ_MSGS for MSSQL 2008 for the Event subsystem. I believe the post you refer to regards installing the extra tables for the Event subsystem.
2. If you are Windows 2008 then make sure you are on Windows Enterprise Editon

No I never did resolve this. I was doing some POC on a VM so it was purely experimental and I have not chased it up.

If you are seeing the same issue then I suggest contacting support. If you manage to resolve please post a response here.

I've got a client that is not able to access the Administration Server on Windows 2008 Enterprise Server SP2 and as a result we've opened a support case.

I've seen this twice now on 2008 Enterprise server. I've been able to install TS on a 2003 Server with no issues accessing the Admin Server.

However, on both servers (2008 and 2003) the event subsystem did not get installed.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot accessing the Admin Server? The servletd_out.log is the only log I've found that messages some what relevant to the issue

Having the exactly same issue on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise / SQL standard 2008.

Have reinstalled multiple times using a Virtual Machine but always the same outcome - the administration doesn't work - support even walked through an installation from scratch in case I had missed something.

They have now told me to run the following command:
C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\iw-perl\bin\iwperl C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\install\tspostreboot.pl C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\ IIS

This fails: TeamSite was not configured due to an error - check tspostreboot.log for details

The log file contains:

A minute later a windows dialog appears - Do you want to scan and fix IFS Volume (Y)?

So support have told me:

There was a setting on your Windows box which was prompting for user response when the Y drive is mounting up.

Scan and Fix
Continue.

As discussed on the call yesterday, Can you disable the setting and give a try.

Now the problem I have is I cannot find a way to disable this setting - so I am now stuck - they won't help any further until I disable this setting.

I have tried an install using server 2003 - all the other software and installation files used were exactly the same and it works perfectly.

Any ideas gratefully received - I am not sure if support are throwing me a red herring - has anyone else got a working Server 2008 installation?

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with your problem - but I have seen this cause issues in the past on Windows ... make sure that you have DEP enabled only for "essential Windows programs and services" - to check this:

If it wasn't set right - set it correctly and then try rebooting - you may still have to go through the tsreboot.ipl process manually.If it was already set correctly - disregard all of the above and good luck.

This seems to be a bug with the TS install

To fix this:

Make sure port 3035 is running.

If it is not, make sure the tables are created in the "event subsytem" DB, by creating the tables defined here C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\eventsubsystem\conf\ddl\mssql_2008_activemq_msgs.sql

Once 3035 is up

1. Make a backup of /iw-webd/conf/iw-webd.conf.template.

Try this ..

Hi I had the same issue,
I Checked the permissions to the below folder
Interwoven/ApplicationConatiner/server/default/deploy/iw-wcmweb.ear/iw-core.war/WEB-INF/conf

Gave full permissions and restart JBOSS.

The Admin UI issue resloved.
