textarea data not able to save in Database

Hi,

As per requirement we were migration the current application from TS 6.5 to TS 7.2 .Earlier we were saving the DCR content in the database (oracle 10g) using the DD scripts.

But now when we save the DCR content using the new system TS 7.2 it throws error at the backend saying "cannot convert the content into CLOB datatype" specifically for the TextArea.

If we clear the textarea it works fine but if we specify any letter there if throws the error.

Database : Oracle 10g.
Teamsite : 7.2.1

Note : The schema at the DB level is same.

The reason of posting the issue on devnet is to know has anyone faced the same issue or not.

I believe you may have to find an old jar file to replace the one that comes with 7.x - that DD uses.

I believe it's ODHOME/drivers/ojdbc14.jar

If you can install an old copy (6.x) of OD somewhere and then compare that file in both the 6.x and 7.x installations, you may be able to just copy the jar file from the 6.x installation into the 7.x installation (and restart OD).

I was able to find some additional information on this from a recent email:

The file (ODHOME/drivers/ojdbc14.jar) / file-size (1,212,964 instead of 1,174,976)

The above was on a W2K3 server - and I don't off-hand remember whether it was the smaller or larger one that was "good" (though I think it was the smaller one).

We tried replacing the ojdbc14.jar from TS 6.5 to TS 7.2 but it didnt work and the size of the jar files at both the location is same.

The OD we are using is 7.0.

Kindly suggest, if any other approach is available for the same.

Is the size the same as one of the sizes I posted about?

If so - you need to find a copy of the jar file that matches the other size.

Yes.
Size of the jars are same i.e. 1,148 KB.
