how to delete a deployment

I have a deployment job that has been running for over 25 hours and dont know how to stop it. Sorry Ghotti and nipper I have no formal training and dont understand the manual yet. Company hired me anyway(tricked me into thinking .net) so not my fault.

If cancel does not work (clt or GUI), then you need to restart OD, base an receiver.

It would also help to figure out why it failed.

If you have permission it is on the OD GUI. View deployments and select one, you will see a button at the bottom right that says Cancel Deployment, it may be grayed-out.

There is a CLT iwoddeploycancel in ODHOME/bin as well

Id say that between 90% and 99% of the time - you cannot cancel deployments via the CLT or GUI - and have to resort to restarting the base and/or receiver server OD services.

When I ran the cancel bat file I didnt use / slash i used \ slash...maybe worth another try.

That is ASSUMING the cancel worked.

It is highly likely that the cancel did not work. So you will probably need to restart the services.

Also you need to figure out why it is taking so long or you will have other problems.

The cancel is still pending as of this am. So I guess I will have to re-start the service. Not sure what is causing this yet.

Im guessing that i may have gotten a paramater wrong. The guy that was here before didnt leave us much for documentation. There are alot of deployments that require a parameter such as: iwdd="TopNavigation"

This has been a huge problem because I have people asking for deployments but do not know what the correct parameters are. So that may one thing thats wrong.

You might want to make sure that the database connection is working correctly. Also, see if there are any dnr scripts running. If those scripts run and not returning, then the deployment could get stuck.

Like I said you have bigger problems than a stuck deployment.

iwdd means datadeploy, that still leaves a lot of territory to search
