Difference b/w Open deploy and Data deploy?

Can any one tell me the difference between open deploy and data deploy.

Nowadays, datadeploy is a component of opendeploy that is used to deploy content to a database. Whereas opendeploy, traditionally, deploys content to a file-system (but now it can do more then that).

I'm curious as to what you mean by that last parenthetical comment. What else do you believe that OpenDeploy can do besides transferring physical files to file systems?

Okay - but those aren't that new (dnr-scripts have been around since at least OD 3.0, adapters have been around since OD 5.6) which your phrasing suggested.
