save to different branch/workarea

Using Teamsite 6.7.2, Windows 2003, MediaBin 4.6.2

If I have a template in subbranch A, workarea A, and the template has a dialog to select an asset from MediaBin...is there any chance the asset could be save to a folder in subbranch B, workarea B? I've tried specifying the full path to the folder in Subbranch B within the dialog-input, but this always creates a folder in the current workarea.

I cannot say with 100% certainty - but with about 99.9% certainty, I'd say the answer is "no".
If you want you may be able to create a process (as part of a workflow or possibly an iwat trigger event - if a reasonable event exists?) to move the retrieved asset into a different location, but the onus would be on you to make sure that all references to it are properly adjusted and any EAs are properly set and/or adjusted - as well as dealing with deployment issues, etc.

Personally, I'd try to find a way to make things work within the existing branch / workarea because it keeps things much simpler, but if you need to do something more complex - it's going to have to be some sort of post-MB-retrieval-process.
