OD has to be restarted for deployment to work

Hi all,

We've been using our OD without any issues for 3 years. However, recently our deployment started failing and we've to restart the OD Base service before the same deployment can get through.

Below is the error msg when we tried to run the test deployment:
iwodcmd start test

Locating OpenDeploy service.
***ERROR - RMI remote exception, please check the RMI registry.
Please check that the OpenDeploy server is running.

iwodcmd serverstatus
Caught exception in IWDeployCLTMain.runIt(). Details: no such object in
table
Please check that the OpenDeploy server is running.

After we restarted the OD base service the deployments will work however after an hour or so the deployments will fail again and we've to do another restart to get them working again.

Any idea what could have gone wrong?

The log files does not provide much info, most of the time when the deployment fails there's no log created at all. It's been happening for quite some time now and we can't troubleshoot the cause. Please help, thanks.

Check disk space and log file sizes.
You don't mention the OD version or platform information - I seem to recall that there were problems with an older version of OD on Windows when certain log files reached a certain size (5 Meg?) they were supposed to roll-over but didn't and it would cause problems.

Make sure to check the ODHOME/od.log as well as the ODHOME/log/hostname_odbase.log for possible information.

The OD Version is: 6.0.2.0.0 Build 46963 Interwoven 20050402
and it's running on Windows 2003 SP 2

Disk space on the machine is not an issue although the ODHOME/log/hostname_odbase.log size was close to 5 mb (4.7mb). I've trimmed the log file just now so I'm going to observe the behaviour again.

We're using the Hypersonic and the only unusual entry inside the od.log is as below:

I am having this exact same issue......using OD 721 on Win2003 server. This is happening every day at this point and support has been all but helpful. Are there any updates? I know this thread is older but any resolution information would be helpful?
