Custom column content in file list

Good morning.

The UI Customization Guide specifies somewhat how to add custom columns to CCPro pagedlists, giving examples on how to put list variables, workflow variables or extended attributes into columns. You specify those in the "property" attribute of the tag.

But as documentation is limited to giving examples, I was wondering if there was a way to put more custom content into those columns, like:

- static text
- a combination of multiple attributes (e.g. creation date and user)
- displaying a special text if an extended attribute is set to the file
- displaying the filename in a different color if an extended attribute is set

Has anybody successfully tried to customize the content of a column? What exactly is it that you may put inside the "property" attribute?

I was looking into it at some point. Note that pagelist(s) Display a Collection of certain Objects
(List Entries), one row per Entry. "Property" is quite literally Object's Property or rather Bean
Notation of it.

What this all means is that if your List Object has certain Property - you can show it. Other than that,
nothing. (Actually, not all Objects' Properties are exposed by UITK but that's another story). Note
that Job and Task Variables are exposed attributes of [job|task]_list Pagelists Entries. Since you can
easily control their Values you can perhaps show what you need at least for these two Page Lists.

Other than that, I'm not aware of any supported mechanisms that would allow to Display arbitrary Expression,
Servlet output, Script results or anything of that nature in the Page Lists. Sure, you can try to hack JSPs
that generate corresponding Page List Views. It is up to you to decide whether such hacking is worth required
development and support efforts.
