iteration sort to ignore capitalization

Anyone know how to sort ignoring the capitalization of words? What I'm trying isn't working... it alphabetically sorts the capitalized words, then sorts the lowercase words at the end. (ex. returns 'About, Alphabet, aggravate' instead of 'About, aggravate, Alphabet') Thanks in advance for your help!

What's your context? Is it Perl, XSL, Java, Spreadsheet Column or something else?

You've posted under FormsPublisher Templating. If you are talking traditional Perl PT what you want to do is trivial:
@sorted = sort{lc($a) cmp lc($b)} @random;

What is 'document'? Is that a text field, a textarea, or something else?
also, you might try including the '$' in there - i.e.:

sub compare_document { 
    lc(iwpt_dcr_value('$a.document')) cmp lc(iwpt_dcr_value('$b.document'));
}

(I haven't tried this out - just making a somewhat educated suggestion)

Thanks, I tried the $ and that didn't make any difference in the generated html. 'Document' is a text field within the container aindex.

Your Syntax is correct, it should work. You probably have some problems with the accessor Strings.

Perhaps 'dcr.searchIndex.aindex' is incorrect Replicant reference or "letter.document" is, something like that.
Test your loop first without Order Clause by simply rendering "list.document", see if it shows what
you expect. Note also that this stuff is case-sensitive, "Document" and "document" are different things
