Fetching extended attributes for a workarea in file

Hi,

I am new to teamsite and i am creating a spar and i need to define the eamanifest.xml for which i need all the extended attributes under my workarea for all the content inside it.

How do i go about this?

Any pointers are much appreciated.

As far as I know there is nothing OTB to do it for you. You'd have to code it.

You will traverse WA tree, get EA's for each required File and format your manifest.
It may be somewhat easier to do in Framework supported Perl or Java but you can use
other languages as well.

As boris has already said, you will need to do this using some custom code.

read up on the CLT's or on CSSDK on how to retrieve extended attributes through custom code.

read up on iwextattr CLT

Actually no, if you think about how spars are used. Most of the time you do not want EAs (because they include the livesite IDs), which should be unique to a system

If you are moving branches, then use OD with EAs turned on. When I move DCRs, I have a perl script that will calculate the templating EA and assign them.

does anyone know if you are installing a template with a custom layout if you need to attach the path to the layout as an EA?

also, does anyone know where the dtd is for eamanifest. I'd like to attach an EA to a template but the example in the doc doesn't explain how to attach to templates.
