Error while deploying files using Deploy Task in WFM?

Hi,

I am using Deploy Task to deploy files from TS to Livesite Runtime. I believe that I can achive this functionality using external task also but there I need to run "iwodcmd" command through java which is not recommended in few posts.
Hence I am using Deploy Task where I have specified "odDeploymentName" as "test_deploy(i.e. xml)" and in od variables I have specified one variable "od_target".
The od_target is then used in deployment configuration file as <targetRules area="$od_target^">

As I have not specified any Class Name, hence I believe it should invoke "DeployURLExternalTask.java", but I am getting following logs after submitting the file from TS:

However, it is working fine if I run the same test_deploy.xml through "iwodcmd" command.

Your task variables that represent substitution variables should be of the format: [size=2][color=#2a00ff]

odSubst_varname

So for your variable named "od_target:". your task variable should be named [size=2][color=#2a00ff][size=2][color=#2a00ff]

Not sure if that's going to solve all your problems, but it should solve one of them.

Thanks for your help Smitty, but after making the changes also I am getting the same errors.
I have seen one of your post as well, where you had utilized the same class, does it require any configuration change?
Earlier I haven't provided the host name and port, as in CLT also, we never explicitly mentioned about host and port. But, just to give a try I had also provided odHost and odPort variable values which was mentioned in odbase.xml under tags "localNode" and "bindPort" respectively. But still no success.

HI,

I managed to run Deploy Task in WFM.

The error got resolved when I made an entry "<nodeRef useNode="target-server"/>" under replicationFarm node. But I don't understand, that why is it working when I am referring the same deployment configuration file from WFT or CLT?

Another strange thing I have noticed while running Deploy Task using WFM:

1) Deployment is taking lot of time as compared to CLT.
For a small text file it is taking around 4 minutes to deploy from TS to LRE whereas the same thing I am achieving in hardly 10 seconds through WFT or CLT.

Looking at logs I found that the major time spent in transition from these logs

2) The Deploy Task runs the OD in synchronous mode for ex: when I had tried to deploy another file before completing the earlier job I got an error in logs stating something like "No other operation permitted" and it terminates the job without intimating the user who actually initiated the WF from browser.
However, deploying multiple files simultaneously through WFT works perfectly file without giving any error in logs.

Could someone please let me know the internal processing of WFM and its related JAR/Classes.
