Workflow external tasks not working

-TeamSite 7.2.1.0.0
-OpenDeploy Base 7.2.1.0.0
-Solaris 10 5/09 (Update 7)

Teamsite 6.7.2 was upgraded to Teamsite 7.2.1. It was observed that all workflows now start hanging up. These workflows are based on WFT files using external tasks that call IPL files.

iwtrace.log show below error:

[Mon Apr 11 09:33:16 2011] ERROR: Utility Daemon connect failed (err = 5000009). Will retry connect again in 10 seconds. Please restart the daemon.
[Mon Apr 11 09:33:26 2011] ERROR: Utility Daemon connect failed (err = 5000009). Will retry connect again in 10 seconds. Please restart the daemon.
[Mon Apr 11 09:33:37 2011] Execution of command /opt/iw-home/TeamSite/iw-perl/bin/iwperl failed (Error: 5000009) for user: username. Retried connect to utility daemon 3 times.
[Mon Apr 11 09:33:37 2011] Could not run /opt/iw-home/TeamSite/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /opt/iw-home/TeamSite/custom/bin/path_to_ipl.ipl for task 831952; aborting (requires admin attention)

iwreset -a was tried, and even the m/c was restarted , but that does not help.

Also please note the output of below command

I will really appreciate if someone can please help with this issue.

Try looking at the iwutild log files as well, perhaps they contain some information that might be useful.

The error messages in the iwtrace.log would seem to indicate an error with iwutild, perhaps with regard to some port that iwutild is expecting to use and that may be in use by some other program on your server?
