File List deployment OD 6.2.1

Hello,

I'm struggling to comprehend how to construct a file list deployment that works on Windows.

At present I can't get past this OD error:

***ERROR - Starting deployment.
Reason from server: DEPLOY_CONFIG_FILE
Details : Got null definitions hashmap.

I've attached the deployment file I'm constructing.

Normal comparison deployments work ok between the servers and directories involved.

I'm not very experienced in OD, and finding that the OD manual doesnt offer any Windows file path examples - I'm using the 621 Deployment Guide page 56 onwards.

The log file for the deployment consists of 4 lines and the script itself, so provide no additonal info (can post if requested).

Also is there a way to make the logging more verbose?

Any suggestions appreciated.

You cannot have a

filesystem

element as a sub-element of an

iwstore

element - it's one or the other not both.

Also - are you explicitly setting your targetFilesystem value on a node-by-node basis in your odnodes.xml file (for the nodes associated with "WWW_Preview")? If not, then the value of "IGNORED" you're using in your configuration file is likely to cause you problems.

If there is OpenDeploy Administrator is installed then you can validate your deployment descriptor using od-admin UI.
Check od-admin url: http://server-name:8081/iw/opendeploy

You can also compose deployment descriptor through admin ui.

Thanks for the suggestions. Using the example posted by taalgaard I was able to modify my script to get it working.

However, this required using the sourceFilesystem tag - which is noted as being legacy on P36 of the 6.2.1 manual.

My curiosity has me wondering why I still can't get the script to work using fileSystem and filelink tags.

I've attached my working script - in case it proves useful to somebody else

I've also attached the slightly cleaned up version of my original script which doesnt work when trying to use fileSystem and filelink tags.

I did have a brief look at the OD web interface, but need to spend a bit more time to get familiar with it yet.
