Need to Show message on Submit of DCR to workflow

Hi All,
I have requirenment of showing the confirmation messgae on submit of DCR.
I have used WFM and custom_intantiation.cfg for workflow. In custom_intantiation.cfg, when user fills all the details and clicks on Submit button then it should show the message "Your DCR has been submitted to workflow for approval".

I can add the custom submit handlar on init of form by using formAPI js code, but because of that my existing functionality of actually triggering the workflow will not work.

Anyone has done similar to this......Please reply...

Make the first (start) task of your workflow a CGI Task, owned by the user who initiated the workflow (IW_USER) that displays this message, and then transitions automatically to the next task (presumably to actually do the submission)

No idea, but based on what you indicated in your original post - no.
Plus - why be concerned about that? The solution I gave should do exactly what you want and is relatively trivial to implement.

Teamsite ootb behaviour is that when the submit-form closes it kind of signals "your files have been submitted to approval". ANY custom code that makes this ootb-behaviour more advance has the potential danger of actually breaking the "submit to approval", even after the message "your files have been send..." is shown to the user.

Then put an alert in the custom_instantiation.cfg or a label with that data.

It is still a stupid requirement and you should tell whoever made it up how much time you have wasted trying to do this.

Instead of blindly taking a requirement a decent consultant will tell someone many hours this will take. Any reasonable person would say forget it.
