Is storage area network (SAN) supported by Autonomy to hold a backing store? Is anyone using it currently on TeamSite?

What specific SAN do you have ? I know Smitty has a Network Applicance working with TeamSite and that is not uncommon.

One point is that SANs are significantly slower than regular Unix or DOS filesystems. Thus a submit task takes longer to complete on a SAN than it does typically. Some people build a delay in between a submit and deploy for the SAN to get complete.

Would like to know more on this. We are looking into this too. Tried to get information from support without much luck. Talked to specialist at Autonomy, previously Interwoven. They said it should be fine as long as it is a SAN not NAS. They also told us there were clients used SAN in their production environment already.

We have been using a SAN device for a number of years with no issues at all. This is on a production system. IBM Storage Device. Solaris 10.

We've been using SAN partitions also. It's just storage that shows up as a filesystem on your machine. As far as TeamSite is concerned, it's just the same as using any other type of disk.
