Filter issue

Hi,

We have a new requirement in the workflow. Need to filter the files based on size. If the file size is greater (>) 5 MB , then workflow should not deploy this file to target servers. Here my question is, is it possible to filter the files based on size in the Open Deploy configuration. As I know we can filter the files based path or pattern (Regular expression).

Please suggest me, way to filter the files based on size.

This seems a questionable requirement - however, in order to do this I believe you would need your own pre-deployment code to filter the list of files associated with the workflow before creating the file list used to perform the deployment -- i.e. custom code.

In the cases where we've had a requirement to enforce some sort of business rule in the workflow, we have historically done that in the either the instantiation page (which requires a bit of javascript hackery plus server side to handle all of the file manipulation) or in a cgitask right at the start of the workflow. I haven't had any requirements like that surface in a project where we were using WFM. If I did, my initial thought would be to use a web task, display a nice specific error if they failed any of the business rules, and then transition them to the error resolution task for them to fix/remove the offending files.
