Group task & cgi script

Hi

I have a group task (schedule deployment) and i want who will take the ownership of this task should be able to specify deployment date. For specifying deployment date i have a cgi script.

So, can we integrate group task with cgi script so that who has taken the ownership of the group task, can only fill in the date?

Or if there is any other way.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a GroupCGITask - so what you generally end up doing is creating a GroupTask followed by a CGITask - however, in order for the CGI Script to start "immediately" you need to ensure that the owner of the CGITask is the same as whomever took ownership of the GroupTask. To do this, you generally use an iwat trigger script that runs when the GroupTask's ownership is "taken" (the event: "TaskGroupTaken") that identifies the owner of the GroupTask and then creates/accesses the task object associated with the CGITask and changes its owner to be the same user.

Unfortunately, there appears to be some issues with this strategy (which has worked in older versions of TeamSite) with respect to TS 6.7.2 SP2 + P1 on W2K3 (or at least there was for me, on my last project) such that the iwat trigger script only seemed to run if the user who took ownership of the GroupTask happened to also be a member of the local Administrators group on the server.

If you search the forums you should be able to find the information about the setup of the trigger script as well as the thread detailing the problem just described above. In general - it's the right solution.
