Hi,
I am trying to add a new custom menu item in the File Menu in TS. Is it possible by any means to have this menu item visible in the file menu of Webdesk(Author only )interface?
Thanks in advance
Tony

I would hope and expect that if you configure (in iw.cfg) your custom menu script to be executable by authors that it would appear in Webdesk for authors to use. If not, there's something wrong with Webdesk.

To be visible in both webdesk and webdesk pro, your custom menu line should end with "", "500". For instance:
custom_menu_item_tsdemos="File", "TeamSite Demo", "file:/iw/flash_demos/open-me.html", "all", "scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=640,height=545", "", "500"

Make sure in your /etc/iw.cfg file you've got that (last I checked) undocumented "500" at the end of your menu item declaration.
I think a menu item like this will show up in TeamSite:
custom_menu_item_garbage="View", "Find Garbage", "find-garbage.cgi", "editor, admin, master", "scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=640,height=545"
And a menu item like this will show up in TeamSite as well as WebDesk
custom_menu_item_garbage="View", "Find Garbage", "find-garbage.cgi", "editor, admin, master", "scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=640,height=545"
"" "500"
Does that help?

Is that really undocumented? How the **** is anyone supposed to figure that out? The joys of 2 interfaces...

Actually it is documented. In the KB, in release notes and in the 5.5.2 docs I believe.
