Unlock Permissions for Files

I have Approver(With Reviewer Role) as group name. Approver's are not TS masters and when the approver tries to Unlock a file which is unlocked by other users, it shows " Permission Denied " alert error message.

TS Version is 6.7.2 and can any one help me to come out from this? Whether the user with Master role will have only access to Unlock it or Editor role can also have access to Unlock it?

Master role user can enable the unlock feature by following the below steps and it will enable "reviewer role" users to unlock the file.

1. Click "Administration" tab
2. Clcik "Configuration --> Roles and Permission --> Manage Roles --> Reviewer -->Files, Forms and Folders "
3. Click "More Detail" link and check the "Unlock File" check box.

Its not like only the Master/editor user can unlock the file. Any user can unlock the file if the unlock file check box is clicked.

I have checked it and the Unlock files check box was already selected. Please help me to come out of this issue.

Reset Teamsite server.

1. Click "Administration" tab
2. Clcik "Server Operation -->Reset Server"

Some times Teamsite server may not read the roles related configuration changes properly.

I did server reset, but it is not working. Whether there is any other configurations for this.

Please let me know how can i resolve this?

You can verify the permissions for "Reviewer" role in "iw-home/conf/roles/roles.xml"

<role id="reviewer" display-name="Reviewer" description="Content viewer with ability to browse and read" workflow-permission-override="No" workarea-permission-override="No" locking-model="SubmitLocking">
<operation id="UnlockFile/">
<role/">

If you have access to unlock file, then <operation id="UnlockFile/"> entry will be present in between the <role> tag.

Is your workarea is shared by group?

I have tested this in my server and it is working for individual(workarea owner role is mapped as "reviewer" ).

I think, in your case, the reviewer group is not used for sharing the workarea. You need to use the Permission Overrides for this reviewer user to unlock the file.

1. Click "Administration" tab
2. Clcik "Configuration --> Roles and Permission --> Manage Roles --> Reviewer --> Permission Overrides (At the bottom on page)
3) Check the box "View and modify files in workareas where they are not a member of the group for sharing". Save and then try to use it.
