file and folder permissions

I am on TS 6.7.1 on Linux system. I was wondering what would be the settings needed on Linux Box such that when ever a user Creates folder/file from CCpro UI in a particular workarea the Folder/File get the Group ID set accordingly (Same Group ID as the Workarea). This is not the case now. It is being assigned the userID everytime some one creates a File/Folder.

In any unix derivate, the group ownership of a brand new file defaults to a user's primary OS group (the one from /etc/passwd). How that applies if you are using TS users rather than OS users, I'm not sure. In any case, my typical solution path for this is to set the group to whatever I want it to be in submit.cfg.

Alternatively, try looking at

man chmod

for options such as

chmod g+s directory

-- and search the forums for the same.
