DCR refreshing on callout

From within my DCT I am using a callout to open a different DCR in a new window. This is a simple callout to a CGI which opens the DCR through a URL Command.

I make an update to my newly opened DCR and publish this through workflow but once my workflow finishes the original DCR I am working on always refreshes - potentially losing any unsaved data in the form.

Does anyone know this issue or perhaps a way around this?
